Leon Sanchez Broker
Mr. Leon Sanchez began his real estate career in 1984 as a salesperson with Newman Realty, dedicated to guiding local families through the home buying and selling process. Over the years, he has helped hundreds of families find their dream homes, building lasting relationships and proudly calling many of his clients neighbors and friends. In 1991, he was featured on the cover of Newsday for his work with first time home buyers.
In April 1991, Mr. Sanchez became the Owner/Broker of Newman Realty. He is an active member of the Malverne Merchants and Professional Association and was honored as Small Businessperson of the year by the Nassau Council of Chambers in 2014.
Leon oversees a team of 17 agents while remaining hands on in sales and leasing, now working alongside his sons, Leon and Jonathan. A lifelong Lynbrook resident, he continues to be deeply involved in both the Lynbrook and Malverne communities.

I am also active in the community, having served as President and Chairman of the Malverne Merchants and Professional Association and leading local projects, including scholarship programs and downtown improvements. Joni O'Hagan Agent
Born and raised in Malverne, NY Joni moved back to the village with her husband to raise their children nearly ten years ago. Actively involved in the school and parish communities while her children were young, Joni has been a soccer coach, class parent and a leader on the parent association board, planning auctions, walk-a-thons and other events.
Joni has worked for nearly 24 years at St. John’s University in a variety of roles within Career Services and Student Affairs. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Delaware, a Master of Science in Education from St. John’s University and an Advanced Certificate in Instructional Leadership, also from St. John’s.
Joni ensures that she cares for all her clients with the patience and dedication that she has provided her students, focusing on their unique interests and needs. She treats her clients with honesty, experience and professionalism to make the buying and selling process the best experience they can have.

I have made my life’s career in real estate, having begun my career in property management at the age of 21.
I was previously employed at the iconic London Terrace Gardens rental complex in Chelsea where I was a lease administrator for 25 years specializing in rent regulated and deregulated leases as well as co-op apartment management and DHCR related matters before moving on to home sales.
In addition to having provided me with a generalized background in real estate matters, my property management experience allowed me to develop my problem solving skills, as well as written and oral communication skills, which I now bring to my sales career resulting in smooth transactions and happy clients.
I have been a Malverne resident and homeowner since 2005. Prior to moving to Long Island I resided in Bayside, Queens with my husband where we previously owned 2 co-op apartments. As a property owner and purchaser, I have personal experience in the buying and selling process and can therefore relate to the practical and emotional needs of both home buyers and home sellers.
I love meeting new people and helping them move onto a new chapter.

I have been involved in a sales position since I graduated college from Quinnipiac University with bachelor’s marketing science.
I started off selling insurance and later found myself in the mortgage industry, which gave me a unique insight into the other side of the real estate transaction. That experience really allows me to understand the process of how the finance aspect works after an offer is submitted.
After my time in the mortgage industry I joined the family business as a real estate agent for Newman Realty under my Father as the broker. I have been around real estate all my life and had a good understanding of the business before I ever set foot into an office. After a few years and many transactions I have a vast amount of knowledge about the industry and its trends. I use this knowledge to facilitate and assist my customers in finding homes that they really love. One of the first things I realized is it’s not about selling someone a home but helping them to find a place that makes them smile walking in and out the door, and a place to make cherished family memories. I now really love and respect the fact that I am the one who can aide in finding a home that can be the setting for wonderful memories and experiences.
